I’ve had this piece of music ‘in my back pocket’ for a long time now and many demo versions have surfaced over time. However, I wanted to finally define it on record so-to-speak and this is that version. Probably a third of the way through writing the record, I met Gretchen Menn. Gretchen is one of those Super Human types that walk among us – a frighteningly gifted woman who excels at everything she attempts. Guitar playing is one of those things and it was truly an honour for me to have her playing on the album. I immediately knew which track I wanted her to play on…What I wasn’t prepared for though is the sublime solo she produced. I cannot imagine the piece without her part in it now, which just goes to show how talented she is. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
